The countdown is on! The much-talked-about Edo Arena, popularly nicknamed “Rema’s Dome”, is fast nearing completion in Benin City, and entertainment lovers are already buzzing about its impact on Edo’s cultural scene.
With a 6,000-seat capacity, the modern indoor arena is designed to host major concerts, movie premieres, award shows, and cultural festivals. Analysts say it could become the go-to venue for both Nollywood and the music industry in Edo, giving homegrown stars a world-class platform right in their backyard.
Local jobs are also on the line — from sound engineers and stage designers to vendors and security, the arena is expected to boost the creative economy in Edo State.
Big questions now remain: Who will be the first A-list artist to headline the stage? Could Rema himself open the Dome? And will Nollywood producers line up for red-carpet movie premieres in Benin City instead of Lagos?
One thing is clear — Edo Arena is about to put Edo firmly on the map as a top entertainment hub in Nigeria.
