BENIN CITY — The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has assured citizens that the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo is fully committed to exceeding public expectations through impactful governance, transparency, and sustainable development across all sectors.

Speaking during a media briefing at Government House, Benin City, Idahosa reaffirmed the government’s determination to deliver on its promises and accelerate progress in infrastructure, education, health, and youth empowerment.

“We are not just here to meet expectations; we are here to exceed them,” Idahosa declared. “Edo people have placed their trust in this administration, and we will justify that trust with visible results that touch every part of the state.”

Driving a People-Oriented Agenda

Idahosa highlighted ongoing projects under Governor Okpebholo’s leadership, noting that the state has adopted a citizen-centered development model designed to improve quality of life and restore public confidence in government.

He said that the administration is prioritizing transparency in governance, efficient resource management, and close collaboration with communities to ensure inclusive development.

“Our focus is on people, not politics,” the Deputy Governor explained. “Every project we undertake must reflect the needs and aspirations of Edo people — from the roads we build to the schools we renovate.”

Commitment to Infrastructure and Youth Development

Idahosa emphasized that the state government’s massive investment in infrastructure is already yielding positive results, particularly in road rehabilitation, housing, and market modernization.

He also noted that youth empowerment remains a major pillar of the administration’s agenda, with new initiatives in digital skills training, entrepreneurship support, and job creation.

“We are building a future where young Edo people will no longer have to leave home in search of opportunities,” he said. “Our goal is to make Edo a place where potential meets opportunity.”

Rebuilding Trust in Governance

The Deputy Governor commended Edo citizens for their patience and support, assuring them that the government remains open to constructive feedback.

“We welcome dialogue and accountability,” he said. “The people deserve a government that listens and acts — and that’s what we’re delivering.”

Observers say Idahosa’s remarks reflect a renewed sense of direction in the Okpebholo administration, with a focus on tangible impact rather than political rhetoric.

A Renewed Promise

Idahosa concluded by reiterating that the government’s priority is to build an Edo State that stands out in governance, economic growth, and human development.

“Our message to every Edo citizen is simple: believe in this government. We will not fail you. Edo will exceed your expectations,” he affirmed.
