Fresh details have emerged regarding the kidnapping of Mr and Mrs Aifedighi, correcting earlier reports that claimed both victims were killed by their abductors.
It has now been confirmed that Mr Aifedighi is alive and has been successfully rescued, while his wife, Mrs Aifedighi, sadly lost her life while in captivity.
Kidnappers Allegedly Spread False Death Report
According to verified information, the kidnappers had earlier misinformed the family, claiming that Mr Aifedighi had been killed. Sources say this was a deliberate tactic to increase pressure on the family to urgently raise ransom money.
Contrary to that claim, Mr Aifedighi was later found alive after the kidnappers fled their hideout.
Vigilante Intervention Leads to Rescue
Reports indicate that local vigilante groups stormed the bush following intelligence on the kidnappers’ location. Upon sensing danger, the kidnappers reportedly abandoned their captives and fled.
Mr Aifedighi was rescued alive but in critical condition and has since been rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Wife Found Dead, Body Moved to Morgue
Tragically, Mrs Aifedighi did not survive the ordeal. Her body was discovered at the kidnappers’ abandoned camp and has since been evacuated to the morgue.
The couple was abducted on December 22, 2025, a development that had sparked widespread concern and public outrage before the clarification emerged.
Community in Mourning, Calls for Justice
The incident has plunged the family and community into deep mourning, with residents expressing anger over the growing insecurity and renewed calls for stronger action against kidnapping syndicates.
Security agencies are expected to intensify efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
