A festive family reunion in Oben Village, Edo State, ended in tragedy as a young man, identified as Didi, was reportedly killed by his childhood friend during the Christmas celebrations.

According to reports, Didi had returned from abroad to spend the holidays with his family when he was allegedly lured into a bush by his longtime friend, Amadin William, also known locally as “Old Soldier.” It was there that the tragic attack occurred.

Following the incident, Amadin William reportedly fled the area but was later apprehended in Benin City, where he had been hiding. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing, including possible motives and whether others were involved.
