Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has once again thrust herself into the centre of a heated public controversy involving Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry (also known as Liberation City).

In a video shared during an appearance on the KAA Truths podcast, Ogala urged Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS) to go to Pastor Okafor’s church, open up the altar, and “dig it up,” alleging there were serious hidden issues beneath it. She claimed that during the construction of the altar, “that place collapsed” and “somebody died,” and that a blogger had discovered something buried under the ground — though she did not specify what.

“DSS should go to that church and open his altar. I wouldn’t say further than that… They should dig it up and open it,” Ogala said in the clip.

The contentious remarks are the latest twist in an ongoing and highly publicised feud between the actress and the cleric — a dispute that has spilled onto social media, with Ogala making multiple claims about their relationship and Okafor’s conduct.

Background of the Feud

Ogala’s conflict with Pastor Okafor reportedly stems from a personal relationship and a broken marriage promise. She has publicly stated the cleric once promised to marry her but did not fulfil that promise, a matter she has aggressively pursued both online and in media interviews.

In another recent development, Ogala shared a personal photo of Pastor Okafor taken in a bedroom setting, saying it was taken after intimate activities — though she has not made all the video evidence public yet.

Ogala and her legal team have also threatened legal action, reportedly demanding ₦1 billion in damages from Okafor for alleged breach of promise, emotional distress and reputational harm — a demand that, according to reports, is backed by a formal letter served through her lawyers with a 21-day ultimatum.

Public Reaction and Controversy

Reactions to Ogala’s latest comments about the altar have been mixed on social media, with some users supporting calls for investigation if wrongdoing is suspected, and others questioning her motives or calling her out for her public approach.

To date, neither Pastor Okafor nor representatives of the DSS has publicly commented on Ogala’s call for an inspection of the church altar or the broader allegations.
