Tragedy struck in Benin City on Friday as the Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Agun Gbenga, collapsed and passed away during an official event.

According to eyewitnesses, the shocking incident occurred at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, where the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) was hosting a program. Commandant Gbenga, who had just finished presenting his goodwill message, suddenly slumped while returning to his seat.

Despite immediate efforts by attendees to revive him, all attempts proved unsuccessful. He was later confirmed dead.
