A Gesture of Respect and Friendship

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, paid a courtesy visit to the residence of renowned businessman and philanthropist Chief John Osamede Adun, popularly known as Bob Izua, to celebrate his birthday.

The visit, which drew notable dignitaries, political figures, and cultural leaders, highlighted the governor’s continued appreciation for individuals whose impact and goodwill extend across Edo State and beyond.

Governor Okpebholo, known for his humility and people-centered leadership style, described Chief Adun as “a man whose generosity and contribution to society continue to inspire Edo people.”

Celebrating a True Son of Benin

Chief John Osamede Adun, founder of Bob Izua Motors and a respected traditional chief in the Benin Kingdom, has long been celebrated for his philanthropy — offering scholarships, community development support, and assistance to the less privileged.

In Benin social circles, his birthdays are more than personal celebrations; they’re annual reminders of service, loyalty to the Palace, and commitment to Edo progress.

Governor Okpebholo’s presence reaffirmed the close relationship between Edo’s political leadership and cultural custodians who play key roles in community building.

Unity and Progress for Edo

During the visit, both men reportedly exchanged warm pleasantries and discussed Edo’s development priorities — including infrastructure, youth empowerment, and promoting the state’s cultural pride on the national stage.

“When the government and our traditional leaders stand together, Edo will shine brighter,” Governor Okpebholo said.

Chief Adun, in his response, thanked the governor for his visit and assured him of continued prayers and support for the administration’s success.

A Day of Celebration

The event was marked by music, dance, and camaraderie, as friends and well-wishers gathered to honor the life and achievements of one of Edo’s most distinguished sons.
The governor’s presence not only added prestige to the occasion but also sent a message of unity — a symbolic bridge between governance, tradition, and the people.
