BENIN CITY — The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa Okpebholo, has joined millions of Edo sons and daughters at home and abroad in celebrating the birthday of His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, the revered Oba of Benin.

In a congratulatory message personally signed by the governor, he described the monarch as “a custodian of timeless wisdom, peace, and cultural dignity whose reign continues to inspire pride among the Edo people and respect across Nigeria and beyond.”

Governor Okpebholo commended Oba Ewuare II for his fatherly guidance, steady leadership, and unwavering commitment to promoting unity, tradition, and moral values in Edo State.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, I extend warm felicitations to our royal father, the Oba of Benin, on this special occasion of his birthday,” the governor said.
“Your Majesty’s reign has brought renewed strength to our cultural identity, peace to our communities, and a strong sense of pride to every Edo son and daughter. We celebrate your wisdom, grace, and devotion to the progress of our great kingdom.”

Governor Okpebholo prayed that the Almighty and the ancestors of the Benin Kingdom grant the Oba long life, good health, and continued success on the throne of his forefathers.

Across Benin City, palace chiefs, traditional rulers, community leaders, and ordinary citizens have also been sending goodwill messages, describing the day as one of joy and thanksgiving for a monarch whose influence transcends borders.

Since ascending the throne, Oba Ewuare II has been widely celebrated for championing cultural preservation, promoting peace, and strengthening traditional institutions within and beyond the Benin Kingdom.
