Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured Edo people that through the SHINE Agenda, his administration will drive sustainable development in critical sectors and infrastructure for the overall growth and well-being of Edo people.

The governor gave the assurance when he received Muslim faithful who were at the government house to pay Sallah homage.

Represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Okpebholo said his administration remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents, urging all citizens to support the campaign against insecurity by remaining vigilant.

He noted that the celebration is significant and marks the end of Ramadan, a sacred period devoted to fasting, spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and renewal. He added that it is a time that embodies the enduring values of peace, compassion, love, and unity.

“The Edo State Government deeply recognises the importance of this occasion and the ideals it represents. As we celebrate, let us all embrace the spirit of unity, forgiveness, and gratitude that defines Eid-el-Fitri, and continue to foster peaceful coexistence across our communities.

“My administration remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents. I therefore urge every citizen to support the campaign against insecurity by remaining vigilant – if you see something, say something.

“This significant celebration marks the end of Ramadan, a sacred period devoted to fasting, spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and renewal. It is a time that embodies the enduring values of peace, compassion, love, and unity,” the governor added.

On his part, the Secretary to Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, praised the harmonious relationship being enjoyed in the state and enjoined all residents to support the government in developing the state.
