Popular commentator Izzy Ogbeide has called on the Nigerian Police Force to urgently address the growing speculation surrounding the arrest and alleged involvement of an individual identified as Harrison, insisting that the public deserves clarity and transparency.
In a strongly worded statement, Ogbeide expressed concern over the silence from law enforcement, noting that the lack of official information has fueled rumours and misinformation.
“I am interested in knowing what Harrison did. The police should come out and give a press statement. The speculation is too much. If he stole, we want to know. If he is the one planning the kidnapping, we want to know,” Ogbeide said.
According to him, clear communication from the police is necessary to prevent false narratives and public tension. He emphasized that Nigerians are not against lawful investigations or arrests, but secrecy around serious allegations only creates confusion and distrust.
Ogbeide further stressed that in cases involving crimes such as theft or kidnapping, transparency is critical—not only to protect the integrity of the investigation but also to reassure the public that due process is being followed.
As conversations continue to trend across social media platforms, many Nigerians have echoed his call, urging the police to issue an official statement clarifying the allegations against Harrison and the status of the investigation.
