Former Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr Nasir Danladi Bako, has congratulated Frank Areguame Ilaboya on his appointment as Special Adviser on Grassroots Sports Mobilisation by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In a statement issued on behalf of sports-loving Nigerians and veteran sports administrators and writers, Bako said the appointment was well deserved, given Ilaboya’s long years of service as a sports writer, culminating in his emergence as Chairman of the Edo State Football Association.
Bako said Ilaboya’s years of toil and sweat reflect his doggedness, steadfast determination, and unhindered, unbridled capacity to deliver results. He said these qualities make him the most qualified and acceptable candidate for the job.
He urged the new adviser to recognise the importance of growth and development in the demanding task of mobilising grassroots sports.
“May the Almighty see you through successfully as you contribute your quota to the development of sports in Nigeria as a whole,” Bako said.
Bako, who holds the title of Kogunan Sokoto and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), headed the NBC from 1999 to 2002.
