Politicians are really doing what they know how to do better.
A community of 50 people should share that rice with an additional condition that was attached to it.
Nigeria must learn in a hard way or stop complaining when they are given this kind of palliative
₦3,000 TRANSPORT FEE FOR FOOD AID? EDO RESIDENTS SAY NO.
This one shock everybody.
In Edo State, a food aid event linked to Dekeri Anamero, a member of the House of Representatives, has sparked serious outrage.
Here’s what happened. Plain and simple.
A community of about 50 people was given:
👉 one small bag of rice
👉 one small bag of beans
But wait.
Each person was told to pay ₦3,000 as “transport fee” to collect it.
Yes. Pay money… to receive food aid. 🤦♂️
A video from the scene shows a local man reacting in disbelief, openly questioning how such a small amount of food could be called help — especially when people are already struggling.
And this is happening at a time when Nigeria’s economy is on fire.
Inflation is above 30%, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Food prices are crazy.
Transport is crazy.
Life is hard.
So people rejected it.
Many residents said no, and online reactions have been brutal — with Nigerians calling it insulting, exploitative, and another example of pre-election token politics.
This kind of “help” doesn’t build trust.
It destroys it.
Moral lesson:
If assistance comes with humiliation and charges, it’s not help — it’s exploitation.
